531-70 WASTEMASTER

Designed and developed using our Efficient Design philosophy, the JCB 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall is the smallest of our full-sized telescopic handler machines. It’s a hugely productive Loadall sitting on a chassis that’s designed for load bearing and stability.

The 531-70 Wastemaster’s new award-winning EcoMAX engine meets Stage IIIB/Tier 4i legislation without using a bulky DPF, which, in turn, brings benefits like great visibility, low running costs and more uptime. Special Wastemaster spec means it’s also fitted with extra guarding, protection and an uprated hydraulic pump.

  • Brand new Tier 4i/Stage IIIB EcoMAX engine
  • New telematics and immobiliser security features including remote management
  • High power and torque at low revs
  • Up to 10% fuel saving over outgoing model
  • New instruments, hi-res TFT screen and backlit switches
  • New seat safety switch disables forward/reverse when operator isn’t seated

A SLICK OPERATION

New instruments and a hi-res TFT screen form an intuitive automotive-style layout in the new 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall cab, while backlit switches are crystal clear even in the dark.

Visibility on a 531-70 Wastemaster telescopic handler is excellent, courtesy of a cleverly-packaged driveline and sloping bonnet.

The new-look exterior of the 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall isn’t purely cosmetic; the cooling fan airflow is now angled upwards, reducing dust build-up.

The exterior top door slam latch is new – you can now close the upper door from outside.

On bright days, standard-fit tinted cab glass will reflect 30% of the sun’s energy for enhanced operator comfort.

An improved rear window seal provides positive closure; this keeps dust and debris out of the 531-70 Wastemaster’s cab.

A productivity-enhancing 7-speed fan optimises heating and cooling in the cab of the 531-70 Wastemaster telescopic handler.

The cab is one of the largest around, boasting class-leading low noise levels; excellent air flow, ventilation and demisting; optional air conditioning; fully adjustable steering column and optional suspension seat.

A SOUND INVESTMENT

JCB’s EcoMAX engine produces high levels of power and torque even at engine speeds as low as 1400-1600rpm, which means that a JCB Construction Loadall can provide fuel-efficient matching of transmission and hydraulics.

Because EcoMAX doesn’t use exhaust after-treatment, it doesn’t need costly heat-resistant lube oils or Adblue, saving servicing costs. And, because EcoMAX can be adapted to run on lower-grade fuels, the 531-70 Wastemaster is resalable across different territories, which boost residuals.

A JCB 531-70 Wastemaster telescopic handler is a great asset in so many respects, not least financially – huge global demand, plus legendary productivity and superb build quality equals maximum resale value.

High back-off brakes reduce viscous drag during roading and rehandling, which improves fuel economy on these telescopic handlers by up to 2%.

Our Wastemaster Loadalls take toughness to a new level. Extra guarding for the cab and lighting are standard, as is underbelly protection, all of which protects both your investment and your operators.

LESS SERVICING, MORE SERVICE

All daily checks and greasing on a 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall can be carried out at ground level; engine oil, hydraulic and fuel filters are centrally located for convenience. The air filter is also easily accessible, and easy to clean.

For fast, easy inspection of 3 sides of the engine, this telescopic handler has a large, wide service bay, accessed by a gas-assisted bonnet.

You can access a 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall’s battery easily (and without specialist tools) via a lockable cover that’s opened with the ignition key.

The diesel tank is also easy to get to, and can be filled from ground level. For protection from contaminated fuel, there’s an integral pre-filter in the filler neck.

A dry lubricant system means the 531-70 Wastemaster’s wear pads are extremely durable, with service intervals of 500 hours – compared to around 250 hours on typical competitor machines.

Most Tier 4i engines use a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or SCR, requiring additional AdBlue fluid level maintenance – EcoMAX doesn’t.

The 531-70 Wastemaster’s cab air intake filter is easier than ever to access and replace.

SAFE AND SECURE

For quick, easy and safe access, the JCB 531-70 Wastemaster has a three-point access.

Hose burst check valves on the rams prevent collapse if a hose fails, and JCB Adaptive Load Control system is automatically activated to control the boom functions to help maintain the longitudinal stability of your 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall.

The seat safety switch on the 531-70 Wastemaster disables forward and reverse when an operator leaves their seat; this prevents inadvertent operation.

A JCB 531-70 Wastemaster comes equipped with a full set of side and rear view mirrors for all round visibility and safety compliance. For extra safety, a reverse alarm is standard-fit too.

Our Loadall security system is Thatcham-approved (depending on territory). It comprises a Cesar Datatag (on UK vehicles), a JCB Livelink telematics vehicle tracker, and an immobiliser. Besides providing peace of mind, these measures can also reduce insurance premiums.

The 531-70 Wastemaster’s factory-fit immobiliser arms itself after a certain period following engine shutdown. Choose your activation method from a unique key or 4-digit keypad.

The immobiliser on a 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall always synchronises with the ECU before starting the engine, providing increased theft protection.

Backlit switches are clearly visible, even at night or in low visibility.

THE STRONGEST CONTENDER

A JCB 531-70 Wastemaster Loadall is fitted with a tough inverted U-shaped boom pressing with fully welded closing plates. For extra strength we limit the number of joints and stress points across our integrated boom nose and one-piece closing plate.

The boom on a 531-70 Wastemaster is mounted low in the chassis, providing a rigid structure and maximum over-the-shoulder visibility. Hoses are routed through the boom for maximum protection, while boom overlaps of up to 1.0m ensure ultimate strength and durability.

Side-mounted recessed bonnets and fold-up rear lights are designed to avoid on-site damage to your telescopic handler.

The new 531-70 Wastemaster telescopic handler’s stringent testing programme has included prolonged high stress loading of the chassis, boom and other key components, as well as repeated transmission use over thousands of cycles.

To prove how good our EcoMAX engines are, we’ve tested them for 110,000 hours in 70 different machines across the toughest applications and environments.

A one-piece fully welded chassis maximises the strength and minimises the weight of the JCB 531-70 Wastemaster.
