IN 2017 OVER 53,000 PALLETS WERE REUSED BY JCB IN THE UK

We’ve taken considerable steps to reduce the environmental impact of our distribution and logistics operations over time.

Our highly distinctive World Logistics Centre incorporates a range of environmental sustainability features. A rainwater harvesting system collects water for flushing the toilets; solar panels provide a significant proportion of site energy; and an energy management system helps us optimise our power use.

THE ECO-FEATURES AT OUR HIGHLY DISTINCTIVE WORLD LOGISTICS CENTRE MAKE FOR A COST-EFFECTIVE AND CARBON-EFFICIENT OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT.

Throughout the JCB parts supply and distribution chain, we’re working with partners on innovations like using returnable stackable packaging to optimise vehicle loading. This activity alone should bring significant carbon and cost reductions. We’ve also reduced wood waste by collecting wooden collars and pallets for re-use by our own businesses and our suppliers.

In terms of road transport, our logistics partners use 26 dual fuel compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles on our operations, and our latest fleet meets the highest emissions standards for road transport vehicles (EURO VI).
