COMFORT

JCB JS140 tracked excavators have a supremely comfortable operator environment, boasting an all-day-comfy fully adjustable deluxe seat and ergonomically placed controls.
Ventilation on this JCB tracked excavator is excellent courtesy of sliding side and rear windows.

The cab of the JS140 hydraulic excavator sits atop viscous rubber mounts for a vibration-free operating experience.

There’s excellent all-round visibility on the JS140, with the distinctive low bonnet line providing excellent rearward visibility while manoeuvring. A large laminated glass roof window makes this 360 excavator great for working at height too.

The JS140’s monitor panel is adjustable with a clear display so that it’s easy for any excavator operator to use. There are also servo lock lever override and slew lock functions.

PERFORMANCE AND PRODUCTIVITY

Two operating modes allow operators of the JS140 tracked excavator to tailor performance to any application. Economy (E) provides fuel savings without sacrificing too much performance, while Productivity (P) is geared to high output levels.

The hydraulic system on the JS140 is highly efficient in its operation, providing excellent fuel economy. Advanced regenerative load sensing hydraulics only use as much power as they require.
Auto-idle technology automatically reduces the engine speed of the JS140 tracked excavator when its hydraulics aren’t in use.

The JS140 tracked excavator’s Tier 3-compliant 75kW Cummins 4BT engine produces its peak power and torque at low revs for excellent fuel efficiency and performance.

A high operating weight of 13,560kg, together with a high performance boom and dipper (7.97m dig reach, 5.15m dig depth, 7515kgf dipper tearout, 9375kgf bucket tearout) makes for high digging performance, even in the toughest ground.

SAEFTY

The operator of a JS140 tracked excavator is notified immediately of an air filter blockage, low coolant level or high hydraulic oil temperature via audio and visual warnings on the instrument panel.

A belly guard on the lower frame and underside protection for the upper frame is designed to protect the JS140 hydraulic excavator from on-site damage.

There’s anti-slip plating on the upper decks of this JCB excavator, keeping operators safe when they’re servicing or inspecting.

ROPS and FOPS cab guarding protection is available on the JS140 tracked excavator.

SERVICEABILITY

JCB’s Plexus Oil Filter system constantly filters the hydraulic fluid, reducing the risk of contamination. This means that hydraulic oil life on the JS140 tracked excavator is a massive 5000 hours, while the hydraulic filter lasts 1000 hours.

To increase the engine life of this 360 excavator, an air pre-cleaner system is fitted as standard.

By using graphite impregnated bronze bushes, boom and dipper greasing intervals on this tracked excavator are 1000 hours for normal applications.

To keep downtime to a minimum, the JS140 tracked excavator’s high capacity fuel pre-filter also acts as a water separator, catching dust and impurities and helping to avoid blockages in the main fuel filters.

Basic checks couldn’t be simpler. The low-profile bonnet opens and closes easily, courtesy of gas struts, while routine inspection points are quickly accessible. The engine radiator and hydraulic cooler are mounted side by side for efficient servicing and cleaning.

The JS140 tracked excavator’s electrics benefit from IP67 dust and waterproof connectors for long-term reliability.

STRENGTH

The high-strength undercarriage of JS140 tracked excavators is of a fully welded X-frame construction for long-term durability even in the most demanding applications. Sloped side members stop material build-up.

A closed box-section revolving frame increases strength and reduces stress on this 360 excavator. It’s also highly resistant to impact damage.

JCB’s optional heavy-duty bucket has a floating bush for easy gap adjustment, This improves both bush and pin life. Our optional hard-faced bucket has a Hardox steel face, reinforced hanger plates and a provision for bolt-on side cutters.

The JS140 tracked excavator has a heavy-duty arm with a reinforced boom joint and bucket joint. There’s also a plate and ribs at the bottom for extra protection.

We’ve strengthened the top and bottom plates as well as the cylinder mounting area of this JCB hydraulic excavator, guaranteeing long life durability.
There are brackets for mounting breaker piping on both the boom and arm of this hydraulic excavator.
