Lest we forget

JCB is proudly marking the Centenary of the World War One Armistice with a number of unique tributes to say Thank You to those who served in The Great War.

At the launch of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal for Staffordshire the company unveiled a distinctive art installation made by its new generation of employees along with a poignant Roll of Honour tribute to employees’ forebears who fought in the conflict. The company has also donated a mini digger in stunning poppy livery to the Royal British Legion which has been auctioned off for the charity.

A moving pictorial Roll of Honour standing 25 feet high has been put on public display at JCB World Headquarters. It bears 50 photographs of JCB employees’ relatives who served in World War I – 21 of whom lost their lives in The Great War.

A special tribute

A team of JCB apprentices and graduates has created a distinctive art installation with 255 ceramic poppies made by a team of more than 30 ex-services employees. Each poppy represents a soldier from the town and villages surrounding JCB’s Staffordshire Headquarters who lost their life in the conflict.
